❄️ Who am I

Hi, I'm Mika Äijö. I love winter, snow and ice. I have travelled on the natural ice all my life - thousands of kilometers and hundreds of hours.

I've finished a complete learning path in Suomen Retkiluistelijat ry, SRL (Finnish Nordic Skaters association) from beginner course to tour guide. SRL has the most comprehensive learning path, what comes to ice education in Finland. SRL is a member association of the Swedish Skridskonet.

❄️ Helsinki Ice Adventures

Even I have tracked thousands of kilometers and countless hours on ice, I still find myself surprised what winter nature can offer: fresh air, peace, amazing ice structures and disengagement from the everyday routines. I want to share this experience with you.

❄️ Ice safety

I have excellent knowledge about ice safety. I know when and where is safe and I also recognize dangerous places that should be avoided. I can rescue myself and others if needed.

WARNING: Never go to ice without proper knowledge and safety equipment!

❄️ Ice psychology

Being on the ice is always an experience that both calms the mind and stimulates the senses at the same time. Even the first meters on the ice make you forget your everyday worries. At its best, it is an unforgettable experience. Be warned: you might get addicted!
